Real Madrid v Liverpool Preview Champions League Final

What a season it’s been, we can’t remember a Champions League that was as memorable as this one! Which ultimately brings us to the last 2 sides standing, it’s going to be an absolute cracker and we’re going to do our best to give you some good bets in our Real Madrid v Liverpool Preview.

Real Madrid v Liverpool Preview

Real Madrid

It’s been a tough season for Real Madrid but they have risen to the occasion and banished those that stood in their way. They’ve faced some top tier sides in the form of PSG, Bayern Munich and Juventus. All of which could be classed as European elites. It’s been a different story domestically where they have struggled to keep up with Barcelona but they’ll console themselves with a Champions League win should they come out victorious against Liverpool.

Madrid have been impressive in front of goal scoring 13 goals in 6 Champions League knockout matches, only once during that run did they score less than 2 goals. Very impressive. They have however struggled to keep their opposition out, conceding 8 goals over the same period. We’re certain that they won’t struggle to find the back of the net against Liverpool but will they be able to keep out a potent Liverpool attack? If they can they’ll be lifting the trophy in Kiev.

Liverpool

Liverpool have had a good season considering how competitive their domestic league is. They may have finished 4th but looking at the sides who finished above them one must respect their season. They’ve also got a deadly striker in their ranks, none other than Salah, the Egyptian scored a whopping 32 goals this season and Liverpool do owe much of their success to the front man. Compared to Real Madrid, Liverpool have had a fairly “easy” run in the knockout stage, facing Porto, City and Roma. Their most impressive win was against their English rivals but they’ll be concerned at the ease that Roma tore them apart in their 2nd leg in Rome.

Liverpool, much like Madrid, have been prolific goalscorers. They’ve bagged 17 goals in their last 6 knock games, including a 0-0 draw with Porto! They have been mediocre defensively, having conceded 7 goals in games in the knockouts. It’s sounds worse than it is as 4 of those goals came from the 4-2 loss against Roma. If Liverpool can keep the Spanish goal machine out while hoping that Salah has a good game they could be crowned Champions on Saturday night.

Real Madrid v Liverpool Betting

This is a very tough match to call, both sides are talented upfront and one would be expecting lots of goals. However we think the reality will be a tense low scoring affair with both sides focusing on their defensive tasks as opposed to an all out attack approach. We give Liverpool the edge at the back against Real Madrid as they’re much better organised and are arguably more talented in that area. However it’ll be a long night if they sit back on the defensive against a talented Real Madrid attack. Madrid have experience and BMT in their favour so it’s not tough to make an argument for them to simply outscore Liverpool. As much as we’d like to see Liverpool lift the trophy we’ll be tentatively backing Madrid’s talented attack and experienced campaigners against a Liverpool side heavily reliant on a few key players. Our second bet is on Under 3.5 goals, which is going to be our biggest position on the match.

Real Madrid v Liverpool Best Bets

Real Madrid to lift the trophy : 7/10
Under 3.5 Goals : 7/10
First Team to score Real Madrid : 8/10
