BetOlimp review

BetOlimp are the new kid on the block in the South African betting industry. You may have seen their brick and mortar store in Cape Town and perhaps even had a bet there. Olimp have a strong Eastern European presence with operations in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, you’ll likely find them in any of the ……stan countries, except perhaps Afghanistan. Betolimp currently have a 100% match offer up to R500.

They have been around for some time, having been founded in 2004. It’s great news for South African bettors that an international book has decided to build an online presence here, we hope they are the first of many. Enough of the pleasantries, let’s see how Olimp measures up.

The Olimp site has a fairly simple layout and navigation is a breeze, something that is missing with many local bookmakers. Want to bet on soccer? Click the soccer tab and a well constructed menu with the most important soccer games with be stickied at the top. Not only that but they also display the number of matches available to be on for each type of sport. So no more clicking Volleyball only to find that there isn’t actually any Volleyball to bet on.

Another great feature that Olimp has to offer is their Live Score and Statistics pages. Something that adds a fair bit of value to the site and is very useful to punter.

Olimp also offer some of the most comprehensive markets and their odds are very competitive, which is sure to attract seasoned bettors. They have some of the largest Esports and Tennis betting coverage in South Africa, rivalled only by WSB. We also found their customer service to be prompt and there were no awkward pauses between questions. Olimp confirmed that they strive to process withdrawals to South Africans within 24 hours, something we haven’t tested ourselves yet but will in the future.

Promotions :

Promotions are the one area that they are lacking in but it does reflect what they have on their international site. We’d like to see a few more offers in here, even if they are the generic bore draws or money back specials. Every little bit helps.

Another minor grip with Olimp is their bet placement styling, it can be a bit difficult to know what the market you are betting on is until you put it in the bet slip. Once it’s in the bet slip then it’s fine but it is an area for some improvement. Also at the time of writing they do not have a sign on bonus offer. BetOlimp have finally had their 100% match offer approved and it’s now live on their site. The offer is a 100% match up to R500, not the best but it’s a good start!

Overall Experience :

Olimp are a breath of fresh air in a market dominated by Bettech bookies. Their competitive odds and simple to use platform all work in their favour but they do lose some points when it comes to their promotions. They also score high on their customer service, which is rare among local bookies and available 24/7. We’re not going to mark them down for their lack of a sign on bonus, as they are new and have said it is in the works. We’d certainly recommend you open an account with Olimp as they look to have a bright future in South Africa.
