Sunbet are one of the best know brands in South Africa, and are very popular with punters due to their sign on offer and features like cash out. We’re going to have a closer look at what they have to offer in our Sunbet Review.
Sunbet Sign on bonus
Sunbet have a 100% match sign on bonus up to R1000 for new customers. It’s double their previous offer making it big enough to attract attention and with decent wagering it’s certainly worth using. The Sunbet bonus wagering is as follows : A minimum of Five bets need to have been placed with the bonus funds, this needs to be done at odds of 7/10 (1.7) or greater (Including 7/10).
The Sunbet landing page is very unique and a great change from what it previously was. All the icons, buttons and menus are clear and large so there is little trouble navigating the site itself. We quite like the icon menu that sits on the top as it not only has descriptions but also a icon for Sports, Promotions and Lucky numbers (coming soon) etc.
The branding and colour scheme are great as they fit Sun Internationals branding perfectly. The main banner carousel is crisp and we expect to see some tasty offers there in the future.
One area the landing page struggles is that it feels a little crowded in the middle. There are lots of current events which populate this area and they are a little too large. We’d have preferred the markets / events to be a bit smaller as they have a strong contrast to the size of the side menu. A minor gripe but one never the less.
Sunbet Login and Registration
The Login and Sign up buttons are large and clear and most importantly they are perfectly functional. No clicking on sign up and then having to sign in, you can do it straight away from the sign in button. We do wish they had a username and password input field on the main menu to further speed things up but it’s not an inconvenience. If you’d like to register for Sunbet today click here.
Additionally you can use your previous Sunbet username and password to login, so no having to contact call centres trying to find out what your new username and password are! Great stuff but in this day and age these things are usually expected. One curious thing we did pick up was the odds changer, where you change from decimal to fractional etc. This was at the bottom of the page when it really should be at top.
Getting into the nitty gritty or the brass tax of the site you’ll find a surprising amount of markets to bet on. Sun have everything from Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Esports, Racing, Horse Racing, Rugby and more. The software they are using provides more than enough markets within a genre / event for you to bet on. But how are the odds?
Well they’re very competitive from the markets that we looked at, so they haven’t gotten greedy which is great news for punters. They’ve also implemented a feature called action bet, which is essentially a what will happen next inplay betting market on things like corners, goals, throw in etc.
Sunbet are only the second bookmaker in South Africa to offer cashout. Cashout is a feature that allows you to cash your bets out early, regardless of if they are winning or losing. It’s great that another bookmaker has implemented this technology as it’s almost standard overseas. Now if only more bookmakers would use it!
Sunbet do not currently offer an app, but we’ve been told there are plans to add one in the future.
Rugby, golf, soccer, cricket, tennis, NFL football, boxing, darts, motor sports, ice hockey, snooker, table tennis, water polo, baseball, basketball, Australian rules, rugby sevens, rugby league, badminton, beach soccer, beach volleyball, cycling, field hockey, futsal, handball, pesapallo, volleyball and lucky numbers
Sunbet Lucky Numbers
Sunbet do not currently offer Lucky Numbers but are planning on adding the feature in the future.
Sunbet currently have EFT, Instant EFT and Card deposit options available.
Not too many promotions to speak of, something which we’re sure they’ll be improving on in the coming weeks. They only have a 100% Deposit match up to R1000 which you can claim here.
Sunbet MVG points
Sunbet have retained their MVG points, allowing casino and online players to earn points for their bets. A full description is below
For every R500 wagered on a single bet with Sunbet you’ll receive 1 MVG point, the same R500 wagered on a double will return 2 points, with 3 points being awarded for a treble etc. These Sun MVG points are then split equally between Casino and Leisure Points, which are then redeemable across Sun International properties. Casino Points can be played back on Slots and Tables and Leisure Points can be used to pay for luxurious accommodation, meals, beverages, golf and entertainment.
Sunbet Customer Service
Sun now have live chat which is an excellent addition to their support. Other than the live chat you can contact them via the following methods :

Sunbet have done a great job with their site and having used them for many years we’re glad to see that they’ve improved in leaps and bounds. There are a few styling issues that we may not like but that’s mostly personal preference. Sunbet has a solid, easy to use site that offers more than enough markets for new and experienced punters.
Their odds are good and their added value services like cashout and live chat all add to what is a pleasant experience. We’d like to have seen more promotions and a bigger sign on offer but we’re sure they’re in the pipeline. We definitely recommend opening an account with Sunbet.
- Site & Features
Sunbet have a modern sports betting product that will appeal to a wide range of punters. They have a solid sign on offer and weekly promotions to keep punters engaged. They are also one of the few bookmakers in South Africa to offer Cash Out. We highly recommend opening an account with Sunbet.
