Let’s face it, we all like to have our sports betting winnings in our bank accounts as quickly as possible. With that in mind we put together this piece about South African Bookmaker withdrawal times, the claims and the truth.
We’ve personally tested the withdrawals on all of the below. All of the deposits were made with a credit card and we requested that the bookmaker withdrawal go to our bank account when possible. Most bookmakers have a “Source to Source” policy which means they’ll only pay the money back to the account (or card in this case) from where the money came.
South Africa Bookmaker Withdrawal Times
Kindly note that bookmakers do offer a wide range of withdrawal options, ranging from EFT to ABSA Cashsend and even FNB eWallet withdrawals. You may experience a faster or longer withdrawal depending on the withdrawal method used. We’ll also be adding more bookmaker withdrawal times soon, so this is just the beginning. Let’s get stuck in, in no particular order :
Betway Withdrawals
There is nothing better than having a big win on your hands after a jammed-packed sporting weekend. Go ahead and cash in with Betway following these steps:
- Navigate to “My Account” on Betway’s home page after you have logged in
- Select the “Withdraw Funds” option
- Complete the withdrawal form by providing us with your bank account details
- Enter the amount your wish to withdraw and click “Proceed”
- Send us your bank statement that reflects your bank account details by e-mailing it to payments@betway.co.za
- Once we have verified your bank statement with the details you provided we will process your withdrawal
- The funds will take between 1 to 2 business days to reflect in your bank account.
Bet.co.za Withdrawals

Bet.co.za withdrawal times claim : Requests for withdrawals are processed by 11:30am on weekdays. The money should reflect in your bank account the same evening if processed but can take up to 48 hours to reflect in your account depending on your bank.
The Truth : Bet.co.za are pretty quick with their withdrawal times, we’ve never waited more than 3 days for the funds to reflect in our accounts so their withdrawal time claims are pretty accurate. We have not however received a withdrawal on the same day but that’s nothing to bash them about.
Playabets Withdrawals
Playabets withdrawal times claim : Direct Bank Transfer: We bank with all the major South African Banks to ensure that you the customer receive your withdrawal as quick as possible
Betting Shop: Funds can be withdrawn from any betting shop. To withdraw in the betting shop, you will need to show proof of identification. Max amount that can be withdrawn in the betting shop is R10000.
The Truth : We found that Playabets withdrawals are usually reflecting in our account within 48 hours as they pay the funds directly into the bank account, which they claim is the quickest method (which is true)
Hollywoodbets Withdrawals
Hollywoodbets withdrawal times claim : Account withdrawals will be paid via EFT to your account. These are performed from Monday to Friday during banking hours. Clearance periods may vary from bank to bank. Withdrawals requested on weekends will be performed the following Monday.
The Truth : We found Hollywoodbets to be one of the fastest when it came to withdrawals, if you request a withdrawal before around 10am the money will be in your account within 24 hours, at least that’s what we experienced.
Sportingbet Withdrawals
Sportingbet withdrawal times claim : Withdrawals can take up to five working days to credit your account.
The Truth : Sportingbet really shine here, they actually send you a proof of payment on every single withdrawal. So you know the money has been paid, it’s just waiting to be cleared by the bank. We usually get our withdrawals 48 hours after the payment has been made. They use FNB so FNB customers should get their funds almost immediately.
Betxchange Withdrawals
Betxchange withdrawal times claim : None.
The Truth : Betxchange have the fastest withdrawal times hands down. In our experience the money is reflecting in our account the same day (if withdrawal is done in the morning) or the next day at the latest. We’ve never had to wait more than 48 business hours for a withdrawal to be processed and reflect in our account. Truly impressive.
World Sports Betting Withdrawals
World Sports Betting withdrawal times claim : South African Account Holders-When processing a withdrawal, please allow a maximum of 2 working days for the withdrawal to reflect into your account. Credit Card Payments/Refunds can take up to 5 working days for the withdrawal to reflect into your account.
The Truth : World Sports Betting withdrawals can be a pain at times. They do a source to source payment which we explained earlier and don’t give the option of withdrawing to a bank account instead. The 5 working days is somewhat true but we’ve had to wait up to 6 working days for the funds to reflect on our account. Keep in mind this is depositing with a credit card and not an EFT. We’d like to see them give the option of a EFT withdrawal for those who deposit with cards.
Supabets Withdrawals
Supabets Withdrawal times claim : None.
The Truth : Supabets are a bit of an enigma when it comes to withdrawals, at times the money is in within 48 hours while other times it can take longer. They are not consistent enough for us to praise them but they are not terrible enough for us to have a go at them. They do have accounts with all the major banks so withdrawals in theory should be lightning quick but we guess it’s something to do with there payments process rather than the banks.

Gbets withdrawal times claim : 24 hours
The Truth : Your withdrawal from Gbets should be paid into your account within 24 hours, depending on your bank.
We’ll be adding more bookmakers to our South African Bookmaker Withdrawal times as we deposit and withdrawal from some of the other bookmakers. So please be patient but feel free to let us know how your withdrawals went and if you had a good or bad experience with a withdrawal.
