Super Rugby Predictions – Round 13

Blues v Hurricanes

Blues at home v another NZ team, sure they have not beaten a NZ team for quite some time, however I will hold onto the narrow loss v Chiefs and say that the Hurricanes did not do that well last week and in fact the Blues smashed me in the Waratahs game, this double digit handicap looks way overpriced and I will have a go at the Blues. Call: Blues on the board at 3/1 for a unit and 2 units at +11.5

Sunwolves v Reds

On my early call whats app group I suggested I thought the handicap would be around ten, however that is what I thought the bookies would go. They have made the Reds favourite but I think the win price is far too big for a team that has the ability to win. Sure they have lost a couple of players, but I have nothing for the Reds. Call: Sunwolves on the board at 22/10 for 2 units and Sunwolves +6.5 for 3 units

Crusaders v Waratahs

There is only one result here, let’s not kid ourselves the Crusaders WILL WIN THIS GAME, the only question is by how much, now last week we watched a Waratah’s team fresh from their drubbing at the hands of the Lions, had all the possession, all the territory and quite frankly won the penalty count, but lost the match. This week they will be clearly out of their depth, they should be beaten comfortably and whilst I am on the minus it is of a tentative play. Call: Crusaders -19.5 at 2 units

Highlanders v Lions

It is clear that most on my VIP whats app group like the Highlanders minus, however for me in 2016 the Lions lost by 14pts but there was an intercept and a dodgy quick lineout that effectively cost the Lions 21pts, the Highlanders have been on a tough tour to SA and in my opinion they will be lucky to beat this minus, I am not surprised it is around seven points and it certainly gets my call. I also believe the Lions can win this game, they are after all two time finalists in the last two years and they have a reasonable record v NZ teams. Call: Lions on the board at 22/10 for 0.5 units and Lions +7.5 at 2.5 units

Brumbies v Rebels

As Hanrick quite clearly pointed out in his preview this will be the lowest viewership of the lot, it is quite simply #RubbishvRubbish but be that as it may, there is no reason why the Brumbies cannot beat this relatively generous minus, they have been clearly the better team of late and I will go for them. Call: Brumbies -4.5 at 2 units

R100 FICA Bonus

Stormers v Chiefs

The Chiefs have not been my best club, in fact I have gone against them on just about every game bar the first one, I do however think that last week flattered the Stormers and felt the Bulls played badly. The Chiefs however have had the better of the Stormers of late and they will in my opinion do it one more time. Call: Chiefs on the board at 9/10 for 1.5 units

Bulls v Sharks

Bulls were bad last week, if I had not been at a Bachelors party I might well have pressed at HT, luckily for me I was under the weather and a press what out of the question. This week although the Sharks have played well against NZ teams and the bulls are quite frankly the almost NZ SA team out there, I just cannot see the Sharks winning the game, they can, don’t get me wrong, I just don’t see it. Call: Bulls -1.5 at 2 units

Six Nations (Game 1)

Wales v Scotland

Call: Scotland on the board at 13/10 at 2.5 units (Best Bet of the Week)

Six Nations (Game 2)

France v Ireland

Call: Ireland -6.5 at 0.5 units

Confidence: Nope not much, just expect Ireland to win the game, this game will show us what sort of competition we can expect from the Irish, if they struggle here then who knows.

Town: Paris

Referee: Nigel Owens (Wales)

Weather: Click here for Paris Weather

Hashtag: #FRAvIRE

Six Nations (Game 3)

Italy v England

Call: England -20.5 at 1 unit

Confidence: Not really, just not expecting the Ities to get anything out of any game, they should lose all 5 games

Town: Rome

Rugby Betting Tips :

Six Nations 2018 (Part One)

Welcome if you are on your first visit, and or welcome back if you are a regular visitor!!

For the first time ever Oracle Rugby will preview a tournament in full

First up is our EXPECTED Wooden Spooner ITALY

Yip you read right, we at Oracle Rugby expect nothing better than DEAD LAST or ROCK BOTTOM for the ITIE’S depending on your use of the English Language!!

The Six Nations is in its 19th year, in 18 years we have seen Italy successfully grab the Wooden Spoon on 12 of the 18 editions or 66.67% of the time, Scotland have been unlucky enough to get four of those (22%) and Wales (2003) along with France (2103) one each making up the 18.

According to Sporting Index, my favourite spread betting firm on their 60/40/20/10/5/0 Tournament Index Italy are priced up at 1 – 3 i.e. a 1/4 shot of finishing last which appears to be value or a 2/3 shot or 40% of finishing 5th, UNLIKELY!!

Italy have the hardest run of all of their 18 years, they start off against a rampant English side at home, one of only two home games and then are on the road for 3 away games, firstly Ireland then France and Wales followed by a game at home v Scotland, normally I have gone the way of Italy in an Italy v Scotland fixture at home but this year they have ZERO chance!!

Expected Finishing Position: LAST (0pts) a big fat ZERO!!

Expected Log Points finish: 2 Maximum but really if I am honest Zero is what we should see

If you are a complete mug and want to back them outright have a go at…

Only one game in the Pro 14, two selected Champions Cup round five games, Challenge Cup games to follow tomorrow night

Kings v Cheetahs

Call: Cheetahs -10.5 at 2 units

Confidence: Not much confidence, only that the Kings will battle to stay within 10, Cheetahs have had a great season so far, I expect them to win comfortably, but my bad form on reading the Cheetahs in Pro 14 has limited this stake to just 2 units

Town: Port Elizabeth

Time: 17h00 GMT +2 on Sarturday

Referee: Stuart Berry (South Africa)

Weather: Click here for Port Elizabeth Weather

Hashtag: #KINvCHE

Ulster v la Rochelle

Call: la Rochelle on the board at 8/10 at 2 units

Town: Belfast

Time: 15h00 GMT +2 on Sarturday

Referee: Wayne Barnes (England)

Weather: Click here for Belfast Weather

Hashtag: #ULSvSR or #ULSSR This appears to be a difficult hashtag to locate?!

Harlequins v London Wasps

Call: Harlequins +7.5 at 2 units

Confidence: Pretty confident, it seems too much

Town: Twickenham (London)

Time: 19h30 GMT +2 on Saturday

Referee: Romain Poite (France)

9 December 2017 Cape Town Sevens :

Samoa v Wales – Wales on the board at 22/10 for 1 unit

Fiji v Canada – Canada +21.5 at 0.5 unit

England v Argentina – No Bet

Australia v USA – Australia -5.5 at 2.5 units

NZ v Spain – Spain +22.5 at 1 unit

Kenya v Russia – Kenya -17.5 0.25 units

7 December 2017 :

Oracle Rugby reckons the Blitzbokke will take the trophy in Cape Town this weekend, at 7/10 it appears to be an absolute bargain!!
