Let’s face it, Rugby Betting in South Africa is one of the most popular pastimes for sports bettors. The problem is it can be hard to find good Rugby Betting Tips without having to scour the underbelly of the internet! So we’ve created this one stop post for all your Rugby Betting Tips from tipsters that are FREE and that we at Best Sports Betting trust.

Super Rugby Predictions – Round 13

Blues v Hurricanes

Blues at home v another NZ team, sure they have not beaten a NZ team for quite some time, however I will hold onto the narrow loss v Chiefs and say that the Hurricanes did not do that well last week and in fact the Blues smashed me in the Waratahs game, this double digit handicap looks way overpriced and I will have a go at the Blues. Call: Blues on the board at 3/1 for a unit and 2 units at +11.5

Sunwolves v Reds

On my early call whats app group I suggested I thought the handicap would be around ten, however that is what I thought the bookies would go. They have made the Reds favourite but I think the win price is far too big for a team that has the ability to win. Sure they have lost a couple of players, but I have nothing for the Reds. Call: Sunwolves on the board at 22/10 for 2 units and Sunwolves +6.5 for 3 units

Crusaders v Waratahs

There is only one result here, let’s not kid ourselves the Crusaders WILL WIN THIS GAME, the only question is by how much, now last week we watched a Waratah’s team fresh from their drubbing at the hands of the Lions, had all the possession, all the territory and quite frankly won the penalty count, but lost the match. This week they will be clearly out of their depth, they should be beaten comfortably and whilst I am on the minus it is of a tentative play. Call: Crusaders -19.5 at 2 units

Highlanders v Lions

It is clear that most on my VIP whats app group like the Highlanders minus, however for me in 2016 the Lions lost by 14pts but there was an intercept and a dodgy quick lineout that effectively cost the Lions 21pts, the Highlanders have been on a tough tour to SA and in my opinion they will be lucky to beat this minus, I am not surprised it is around seven points and it certainly gets my call. I also believe the Lions can win this game, they are after all two time finalists in the last two years and they have a reasonable record v NZ teams. Call: Lions on the board at 22/10 for 0.5 units and Lions +7.5 at 2.5 units

  1. Not sure why he’s getting so much hate. I would never follow a tipster blindly, if you do you should not be betting. I use tipsters to gauge the general feeling and to reaffirm my picks. 5% isn’t great but it’s not bad. Im just glad he wears his record on his sleeve, Ateast he’s not taking 3/10 and 1/2 like a certain Facebook tipster. Anyway hopefully the 7s is profitable for you guys, I personally rarely get involved in it.

  2. 4.78 yield for the Oracle = Rubbish tipster

How does someone with a 1 from 2 winning ratio get his own page ?

        Hi Butkus,

In Oracle’s defence he does tip every almost every single game which is why his results aren’t quite as impressive as say our 66% on football tips. Follow the bigger plays and you’ll end up with a higher return I’m sure. He has broken down his stats into different sections so you can see where he is profitable : http://oraclerugby.com/stats/

        1. You can’t expect to make money if you bet “almost every single game”.

          1. I don’t bet every single game, I bet most games in leagues I follow and have been following for years. I bet on most sevens Games, almost every Super Rugby game, every single Currie Cup game, about 80% of Pro 14 games. selected games in the Champions Cup 7 Challenge Cup. I am up in all of those tournaments over a 7 month period, I have been winning on Rugby for years. I do however change the amount of money I stake on each game depending on the level of confidence. I am up around 5% and again I say there are very few out there that can show a profit over time in Rugby at 9/10. My record speaks for itself.

          2. I agree. I’d like to see more focused tipping or big plays etc.

        2. Butkus Punchy says:

Fair enough – but the point of a tipster is to find one or 2 choice picks and guide punters in the right direction. His strategy of tipping every game is pretty much the same as going to the casino and indiscriminately choosing Red or Black on the Roulette table …. there’s zero strategy required and you’ll eventually even out over time. A 4% return over the last few months pretty much confirms the pattern.

I may be wrong, but from what I’ve seen, I can see this ending in tears for anybody looking for anything resembling a decent guideline …..

100% agree with your statement, I am very sure that he picks all the games as he feels the need to share his picks for them. I’ll chat to him about putting up a “Best Bet” section where he can post his best plays, on which one can be a lot more critical.

      2. Hi Butkus, 54.7% Strike Rate at 9/10 is very good considering it is over a 7 month period. I have been punting Rugby for 18 years and have only met a handful of punters that can beat 52% let alone 54%

    2. Good Day Kane, 4.78% is a ROT Return on Turnover, it is most certainly not a YIELD, my yield is 300% I started with 15 units and now I have 45.
