The South African sports betting industry has grown immensely in the last 5 years, and there are now over 40 different bookmakers to choose from, many of whom offer Cash Out in some shape or form. Today we’ll be taking a look at where you can get the best Cash Out feature among the best betting sites in South Africa. We’ve selected what we consider to be some of the Tier 1 sportsbooks that offer the Cash Out. We’ll also compare the differences in functionality and ease of use across the sites to highlight where you, the punter, can score!
Hollywoodbets
We’ve done some research and discovered that the offering on Cash Out is very different across many of the sportsbooks in South Africa. In the case of Hollywoodbets, we can see that the function has somewhat limited in it’s features. Firstly the cash out icon will only appear in Recent Bets/Bet History when your remaining legs are not in-play and have been resulted if already played. So basically, no cash out on in-play markets at the moment.
On Hollywoodbets Cash Out is only available after at least one leg of a multiple bet has been played and resulted. The cancellation of a ticket before any leg has been played will be subject to the company’s bet cancellation process. So the punter is unable to cash out after a bet is placed, before the games start. You’d need to “cancel” your bet with customer support, if they let you.
Bet.co.za
The next sportsbook we took a look is Bet.co.za, or as most people know them, just “co.za”. Bet.co.za have offered Cash Out for for a few years now, as well as ‘Partial Cash Out’ which is a good option to have if you want to take a percentage of your winnings but still let some money ride if you are confident your other selections will win.
Sunbet
In the same way as Hollywoodbets has made their stance clear, Sunbet has followed suit and there is very little information on their Cash Out offering on the website, besides them telling you how they won’t be held liable if anything goes wrong. The cash out product is fairly straight forward and easy to use, but like bet.co.za doesn’t offer anything special.

Sportingbet
One of the best Cash Out products has to undoubtedly be Sportingbet, because if you compare them to the competition, it’s no comparison. Sportingbet allows you to Cash Out your original stake for the same amount of money before any event starts or prices change. Other bookmakers might take a percentage of your stake as soon as the bet is placed and you cash out, which isn’t great if you change your mind. Just in case you’ve made a mistake/change your mind you should be able to Cash out for the same amount you wagered, no hidden costs. No need to cancel, just Cash Out or Edit My Bet.
Adding to this, if you’re too busy to check the Cash Out value on Sportingbet during the day, but you have a payout in mind, you can set your bet to Auto Cash Out if and when the Cash Out value hits your requested amount. Lastly, like Bet.co.za, Sportingbet allows you to Edit My Bet which serves the same purpose as Partial Cash Out.
Betway
Reading through the Cash Out terms on the Betway support pages the line we see most is “… does not guarantee the availability of the Cash Out functionality at all times, even where the functionality has been advertised in connection with a particular event.”
However Betway have improved their Cash Out product over the years, which runs for most major sporting codes, plus you can always check in advance if Cash Out will be offered on the market you have selected by looking for the green CO icon. Unfortunately a small percentage of your bet will not be returned if you wish to Cash Out.
