Euro 2020 Quarter Finals Betting Tips and Predictions

The Euro 2020 round of 16 had some incredible matches as well as major upsets, the biggest upset being the Swiss knocking out France in one of the best matches of the tournament. After an incredible first round of knockouts we now move on to the Euro 2020 Quarter Finals, where 8 teams will be battling it out for a place in the Semi Finals. Will the minnows continue to shine, or will we see the bigger sides stamp their dominance? Let’s dive into some of our betting tips and predictions for the upcoming matches;

How the Euro 2020 Quarters Work

In the knockout phase, if a match is level at the end of 90 minutes of normal playing time, extra time is played (two periods of 15 minutes each). If the game is still tied after extra time, then the match is decided by a penalty shoot-out to determine the winners. We’re mentioning this because most bets taken in the knockout phase are for 90 minutes, unless otherwise specified. As always, odds mentioned are subject to change.

Switzerland v Spain (2 July, 18:00)

  • Switzerland 5.12
  • Spain 1.69
  • Draw 3.24

Switzerland put in a performance and a half in their win on penalties against a French side who had forgotten how to defend. They take on a Spanish side who started the tournament struggling to find goals, but managed to right the ship in their last 2 wins. The Spanish should have too much quality for the Swiss, and judging by the last few games involving the teams we could be in for some goals. We’re backing Spain to make the Semis at 1.69 with Betway, and Over 2.5 goals also looks an attractive bet at 2.05 at Palacebet.

Belgium v Italy (2 July, 21:00)

The highlight of the quarters is a mouth watering clash between Italy and Belgium. Both sides have been impressive and have buckets of quality. Belgium looked fairly comfortable in their 1-0 win over Portugal, while Italy toiled against Austria, managing to win that match in extra time. On paper this match has draw written all over it and should be a very tight contest. We don’t think there will be too many goals in this match, perhaps 1-0 or 0-0 in the 90, so we’ll be backing under 1.5 goals at a tasty 2.68 at Betway. Those looking for value should find the 3.33 on a Belgium win an attractive bet.

Czech Republic v Denmark (3 July, 18:00)

It’s quite a surprise that one of these sides will be in the semi finals, something that few would have predicted at the start of the tournament. The Czech Republic looked comfortable in their 2-0 win over a 10 man Netherlands, while Denmark demolished a poor Welsh side that was also only sporting 10 men. Four of the last 5 matches between the sides have been a draw, but our prediction is that only one side will find the back of the net in a low scoring match. Both Teams to score (No) at 1.66 seems a good bet, and the draw is priced at a reasonable 3.25.

England v Ukraine (3 July, 21:00)

  • England 1.44
  • Ukraine 8.25
  • Draw 4.25

It’s no surprise seeing England in yet another quarter final. They managed to get the business done in their 2-0 win against Germany, and are yet to concede a single goal at Euro 2020. They face a Ukraine side who are arguably the weakest side left in the tournament, and should have no trouble brushing them aside when the teams meet in Rome. England to win and keep a clean sheet at 2.10 over on Sportingbet is our best bet. The English should manage a comfortable 2-0, or even 3-0 win against the Ukraine.
