Submitted a withdrawal request on 6 April 2021 to Sunbet Online Betting after accumulating winnings since January 2021.
The request is supposed to be processed within 72hrs according to their rules but my request has not been processed to date citing investigations on my account which they do not explain what are they about or why they are doing them.

Hello. I placed a bet on a UFC fight on a market that the total rounds of the fight will be over 1.5. The fight finished early in the second round and the book maker says I lost the bet because the fight didn’t reach the halfway mark of the 2nd round. I am honestly confused because my understanding is that round are counted separately but the way they are explaining it seems to suggest that a fight is not in the 1st/2nd/3rd etc, until that round is completed.
Please advise me.
Hi Kaygee, Thanks for the comment, sounds like there might be something in the bookmakers rules for that, so you’d need to specify which bookie it was so we can have a look.
From what I understand UFC rounds work slightly differently, if the fight ended within the first 2.30 minutes of the second round then your bet on over 1.5 would be a loss, and a bet on under 1.5 would be a win;
Under/Over Round Betting
You’re betting on: whether there will be more than or less than a certain number of rounds and time completed in the fight.
For settlement purposes where a half round is stated then 2 minutes 30 seconds of the respective round will define the half to determine under or over.
If a bout is stopped during a round, before 2 mins 30 seconds will be deemed as under with anything after this time deemed as over.
For Example: If Total Rounds 2.5 (Under/Over) is quoted, then the midway point in Round 3 is the under/over line.
If the fight is stopped at exactly 2 minutes 30 seconds of the round bets will be made void.
I have a problem with Hollywoodbets.. On Friday the 5th I asked someone to deposit money into my account. She used Nedbank and deposited into the Hollywoodbets Nedbank account and used my account number as a reference. I sent them proof of payment which wasn’t in the pdf format and they said they can’t take it as it wasn’t in the pdf format, I tried downloading the format they wanted but to no avail.. And they kept on refusing to accept the proof of payment. And today I went to the bank, to try and ask them to download the pdf form… They couldn’t and told me that the pdf format is outdated. And they gave me proof of payment.. But not a pdf.. I sent it to the deposit department to hollywoodbets.. They e mailed me back and said the document is not so clear.. I have to resend and I did just that… After resending.. The say. Sorry we can’t accept this type of proof of payment… Again

I think it’s best they reverse my money and save me all this misery.. My problem is with hollywoodbets,after I had a complaint with them I expressed that I am a problem gambler,and I told them about my suicide attempt due to my losses.I would sent them emails continuously pleading for their help,but they failed to help even though the signs that I had a gambling addiction where obvious.

Hi there, you will need to contact the KZN board and lodge a complaint with them. I do suggest you try resolve the situation with Hollywoodbets before that though. Consider sending them an email detailing the situation, backed up by evidence.
At the very least they should pay you back the R35k. Bookmakers has a social responsibility wrt responsible gaming as well. Should be identifying problem gamblers and interacting with them, as well as giving your details to the board. You told them you have a gambling problem yet they let you continue to bet. They know this will happen as that is the nature of a problem gambler. If they keep quiet you go back to gambling in the belief you will win, that’s the nature. They know you will have no money left for legal representation and silently over time the case will fade away. Stripping problem gamblers of every cent as chasing away winning gamblers is the name of their game.

Good afternoon all. I am having a issue with Hollywood bets. On Saturday at 18:23 I took two bets at Newmarket that won. They paid me out with an amount of 780 rands short. Upon noticing the shortfall I whatappsed their number to inform them. To date they have not responded on that platform. Sunday I phoned them. After going through their routine and waiting for someone to answer at their callcentre I got through and explained my situation. The guy assisting me told me he would investigate. They got back to me and said a bet I had taken at 17:39 was held back so they held my monies. When I explained that you cannot pay me short because of an earlier bet he said that the earlier bet hadput me in arrears so that’s why the monies was withheld. This was a bet taken at redcar race 9. I explained that this bet was paid out at 19:09 so the amount they withheld should also be paid. He said he will investigate further. He came back to me later in the day after calling the call center again. This time I was told that the monies were withheld because of a multiple bet placed at 18:22 this was a multiple soccer bet. I had to ask. How was it possible that a bet taken at 18:22 that had the first soccer game starting at 18:30 and for an amount of R5800 be paid out at 18:25 for 780 rand. This I was told would be investigated further. Today I spoke to the supervisor at the call center who asked for the info ahain as well as the branch manager at Springfield who both told me they would investigate further. The branch manager got back to me stating that the race in redcar the bet was placed after the race began even though it was accepted so should not count. So this is now the third different reason they have given me now for withholding my monies. I asked lets say I accepted this reason. If the bet is null and void why then would my stake used to place this bet not returned. As you can see not once have they said they did not take my monies they have only found different reasons not to play me. This is a huge company that sponsers huge amounts of money but are looking for as many excuses as possible not to pay me. I have incurred more losses in money lost to contact them to settle. Placed bets on horse accumulators with them and when you place a bet that has a high payout it gets sent to their HQ for approval. After a few minutes they will either accept or deny the bet. These bets came back accepted. After they won, all funds were reflected in my betting account. When I wanted to withdraw the funds they are now refusing to payout. Please help

I registered with Sporting bet and I deposit R2000 in my account, I placed some bets and i won up to R6000 and they blocked my account requesting my Identity document ,selfie with my ID ,photo of the my Mastercard , bank statement of my Mastercard and print screen of my skrill account. I sent everything as requested and my sports betting account was re-open. As I continued placing bets at casino ,I won again and my account was at R50000. I requested a withdrawal for R10000 and R18000,…and they never paid me and blocked my account again.

On the 25th January 2019 I called Gg Gaming to claim my Bonus of R 3000 I spoke to Kerry who told me that usually we can only claim within 7 days after placing a bet , I explained to her that I was away on vacation and could only claim now and she told me that she would call me back and let me know if she can grant me the bonus of witch she did and the bonus of R3000 was granted that very day , later I then called and Spoke to a consultant by the name of Nick who I placed my bet R3000 free bet on the Newcastle and Manchester city game betting on Newcastle to win the consultant told me the bet takes R42000 and the bet was placed.
After the ticket won the winnings was placed into my account in including the winnings on my other ticket I placed on the same game for R 2500 that took R37500 I had a total of R79501 in my account and i logged in and the money was there and continue placing bet(5 more bets which won and my new balance was 82551).
The following day an amount of R52000 went missing on my account witch was the winnings on both my tickets and when I called to enquirer I spoke to an consultant by the name of Jj who informed me that he cannot comment on my account and later had Kerry call me who then explained that the maximum take on a bonus bet is R25000 and that they can only grant me that on my winnings of the R 42000 and will refund my winnings on my Ticket for R2500 take of R37500 in addition to the R25000 as per their limit and she will call me fist thing today and have it all sorted.
Today I have received an email from Kerry informing me that the matter has been taken up with senior management and they will get back to me. I tried calling and the consultants that answered kept telling me no one is available to talk to me at the moment and would give Kerry the message to call me back of witch she didn’t.

I played and won my bets but the company denied me to withdraw the money I won.
I was then called by their agent who requested me to confirm details that I used for registration. Which i did but suffered poor communication due to the remote areas network coverage. I rushed home and asked them to call me again and it was the manager and he requested the same information which I gave.
I read and understood the company’s terms and conditions but I don’t see myself at fault. I feel cheated. As they have completely closed my account and said they won’t respond to further communication with me. I called two times my calls were put on hold. First I was put on hold for long and I called again spoke to Victoria she told me the manager is busy on another call. However, I am ready to take this matter to court. Not surprised that they are not getting back to you. What you need to do is constantly contact them until they’ve resolved the issue, as in resettled the ticket. If they haven’t done so in 2-3 working days I suggest you inform them that you will lodge a complaint with the gambling board. I have queried why my winnings have not been paid to me as yet and the answer I have received is that my account is under investigation and they cannot tell me how long the investigation will take and when my funds will be released. There are several steps that you can take to recover the funds such as going to the gambling board.

So I just recently joined g-bets I registered and ficad and was granted 100% bonus to which when I check for the terms on conditions on the website for the r100.00 bonus couldn’t find anything
I wagered the whole 100 and only won 106 then following day I wagered and won 1600 for lunch time then 1000 for soccer then 900 for tea time

Sounds like you took them to the cleaners and now they don’t want to pay. I can’t seem to find the fica bonus terms so I can’t give an educated answer. If you believe they’ve breached their terms then the gaming board would be the next logical step. Alternatively contact them directly or send us the terms(assuming you can find them)

On the 18 December 2017 i placed a bet on helmonds and eindhoven under 0.5 with 320 rand and thebpotential win is 7360 and the game ended zero draw. When i went to collect my winnings i am told the this tickets should be a refund because the match was a continuation of a cancelled match. Then why did betting world put this match in their fixture
Was your bet taken before the game was moved? If so they will refund it if not played in 24 hours. If you placed a bet after the match had been moved then they should honour the bet.
The game was only cancelled by betting world after the game ended with a zero draw. On the 19th of December when i went to collect the winnings the ticket was active and they could not pay me only on the 20th the ticket was showing refund on the system
In that case I would definitely log a complaint with them and state your case.

Betxchange sent out SMS’s during the week with new usernames and passwords. Check your phone to see if you received it. Otherwise give Betxchange a call and see if you can get them to give it to you over the phone or via email.
Hi, Keith Ho advertising with their new website that they will match your first deposit up to R10000. Ive transfered R7000. They did indeed put R7000 extra but here comes the strange part ….. You have to win back your own initial deposit whatever that might be before you may draw anything. Plus you dont see your deposit again if you win it back. The only way you can win it back is through losing your deposit, and then only (as i was explained today) will the bonuss kick in. Plus they said this bonuss must be swinged 10 times only before you may withdraw it. Whats the point of getting bonuss like that if it means you must lose your money deposited first. Best was not to do that but rather straight deposit without any bonuss as now being advertised. Ive explicitely been told today that i am first playing with my own stakes (deposit). Ive now won about R6300 and they must now first see how much can i withdraw. Ive also been told that winnings is a seperate issue apart from the bonus that need ve turned 10 times. It seems like a very difficult situation you have yourself in!
Bonus wagering can be very tough and sometimes it seems like you need a degree to understand it..
From our experience you need to lose / wager your own money first before you start using your bonus balance. So if you have 10k (5k real / 5k bonus) then you’d need to wager through the 5k before even scratching the bonus wagering. Which does get very tricky indeed. What we’re going to do is have a good look at their bonus terms and see if we can help shed some light on the situation. Check in on Monday for a reply 🙂

By the looks of it they’ve breached their own terms :
“29.1. In the event that a horse racing event (as an individual or a number of horse racing events on the same day) does not take place on a specific day and is postponed to a later date (within a 48 (forty-eight) hour period) then all Transactions shall remain.”
29.2. In the event that any other sporting event, apart from a horse racing event, commences and is thereafter abandoned/postponed to a later date then BetXchange, in its sole discretion, shall determine whether all Transactions relative to such sporting events shall be cancelled alternatively shall remain. BetXchange, in the event that it should cancel any Transaction relating to an abandoned/postponed sporting event (not a horse race that takes place within 48 hours of the first advertised time of such horse race) which thereafter commences at a later date, shall attempt to communicate same to You but in the event that it does not do so You shall not be entitled to claim the existence of a Transaction, (in which event You will be entitled to a refund of the amount staked).

Hi – I took deposited R500 into LM Bookmakers Online account, and proceed to take a bet priced up at 7/1 for the Greyville Meeting this evening. Was only allowed to bet R285 on the horse and they suspended the betting… Further wait for this suspended my account with my balance of R215. I called them and demanded explanation, to which they said i was not supposed to take the 7/1 it was a mistake on their part, therefore they suspended my account and if I want my money back I must advise and they will deposit immediately, However the R285 is locked in the bet. They paid out my R215 and closed my online account. I called and asked them to send me an email with my confirmed bets and they refused. What can I do in this instance? I cannot log no one wants to help me at LM Bookmakers. Spoke to a Mathew not helpful at all. Called this morning he is not in today and will only be back on Monday.

Placed a bet live today on the Dortmund vs Milan match. Odds were 1.45 on over 8.5 goals.
When i looked at my ticket, it said it was two tennis players, to score under 8.5 goals – even though i picked it off their live account for the soccer.
Now they are voiding the bet as there was an issue. Bet.co.za.
So my question to them is: if that match went over 8.5 goals would it have been void. Or when do we know to believe the odds or not as they can change it when they want/like to even when the event is live?

Very interesting issue you had and it can be interpreted in a number of ways. From my experience in the industry the bet would have been voided either way. You generally only read complaints about people who have had winning bets voided, and not from those whose voided bets would have lost. It happens alot in tennis with retired players, a player can be 6-0, 5-0 (40-0) up and retire and both side would be voided, to the relief and frustration of the two camps of punters.
In my opinion Bet.co.za should do the right thing and settle your bet as a winner or atleast offer you a freebie for the mistake. They’re with in their rights to do nothing but if they want to retain you as a customer they give you something. Hope this helps!

I went into Hollywood bets in Malvern this morning to cash a WINNING ticket and was told that they don’t have any money to payout and that I must come back on Thursday

So later in that day you advise you are still waiting and the agent on chat doesn’t know what you talking about cause there has been nothing reported … This is the same story for 2 weeks and still today no manager. Well no Wonder there customer service is in shambles they have “no manager in”. Don’t even bother about cash out as it is never available and for that 2 minutes it’s there the value is ridiculous. Your team can be 2-0 up and they will over your stake as cash out …

We’ve also had issues with their customer service in the past.Some agents are great while others aren’t. However when we did complain the marketing manager called us to apologize which was a nice touch.
We also found that contacting them on twitter was much better than their chat service.
We’re currently working on a “Why customer service is important” piece that will be posted in the next week or two and would love to hear your thoughts on it once its up.
I’d like to complain about Supabets but I looked at their review and saw that half of Africa has already done so. Their customer service is far from Super…Waited a month for my sign on bonus.Waited less than 5min for my LM Bookmaker bonus. Go figure..
