Betmasters are a fixed odds betting site powered by Turfsport, their aim is to become a niche site that caters to it’s punters. They have been around for a while, but have only recently come onto the scene with an actual launched product. We’re going to have a look at Betmasters and see if they are a bookmaker worth using.

The Betmasters site is an interesting experience. The landing page is simple, elegant and well laid out. The first thing you’ll think to yourself is where do I find the markets? Well Betmasters have made an interesting choice here, you have to register an account before you can access the meat and potatoes of the page. Interesting because it’s quite a bold move which has plenty of pros and cons. We’ll speculate here and say it’s because there is not a whole lot on offer once you do get in. Interestingly enough you can access the mobile site unrestricted which may blow our speculation out the water but we’ll see if we get a response on this.

Betmasters currently offer Horse Racing, Soccer, Tennis, Rugby and Lucky Numbers. The market prices are your standard Turfsports fare which is more than competitive. We got in touch with them about several things, including the lack of markets and they said that they were happy to price up requests from punters as long as the request was a week in advance. The requests don’t have to be on any of the listed sports so if there is something you’d like priced up give them a shout, we haven’t tested this ourselves but it sounds like they are very accommodating.

Promotions wise it’s another interesting decision by Betmasters. They don’t offer any ongoing promotions but do often run promotions. At the time of writing they’d just ended their deposit offer of a 100% match up to R5000, a double stretch on international rugby multiples and a price boost on Manchester United when included in a treble or more. We actually really like those and they offered great value to punters. They inform their punters of promotions with a weekly newsletter which covers any promotions on offer and the usual newsletter previews etc. They did give us an inside scoop on the fact that there will be a festive season promotion coming out soon, so we’ll update this review once we know the details.

A another thing we’d like to mention about Betmasters are their punter orientated values. They are happy to take big bets on horses when other bookmakers won’t. They also said they never had and never will restrict a winner. We all know that it’s a favourite pastime of South Africa bookmakers to limit accounts when you are hammering them so it’s a bold move by Betmasters. Let’s hope it stays that way.

Overall Experience :

We like that they are trying to be a bookie that caters for bigger punters and have positioned themselves in such a way, we got the impression that the punter comes first and their needs will be met. We have no issues with the Betmasters site but there are several areas that are in desperate need of improvement. Firstly the lack of markets needs to be improved to a level where one doesn’t not have to contact them to put something up, hopefully this improves as they grow. Secondly we’d like to see ongoing promotions, even generic ones, as well as a fixed sign on offer. Other than that we might see interesting things from Betmasters in the future so we recommend you give them a chance and make up your own mind.

Sign on bonus rating :N/A

Promotions rating : 7/10 when offered.

Overall rating : 4/10

As a closing note we found it very difficult to give them an accurate score. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

  1. SIFISO Bongani says:

Hello I’m trying to register bt your system show my mobile number is invalid

    1. Best Sports Betting says:

      Hi Sifiso,

      Have you contacted Betmasters directly?

  2. are these people still operational?

    1. Best Sports Betting says:

Yes they are as far as we know, but for how long is the question. We haven’t been on the site in ages & haven’t heard from them in a while.

      1. I reported them for not paying – I was then paid immediately and they closed my account. Still have pending bets with them – just wondering if they still operate

        1. Best Sports Betting says:

You should be able to collect your winnings from any pending bets, yeah they’re still operational. Did they not want to pay your withdrawal?

  3. Will they be extending the fica promotion? I want to try the site out before i go and deposit.

  4. Jockey Championship betting. Well done on getting a good market but now please add more Betmasters.

  5. Kenneth P. says:

They should let me see the odds on the site without signing up. Then I might sign up.

  6. Can you help me claim the bonus for fica?

  7. Why can’t they make that 4k promo into a sign up one? I read what muzza said and he’s right, they did say they are closing for Christmas so maybe everything is traded manually.

I hope they do improve as there are plenty bookies that they are competing with. So they have to improve to survive. Thanks for the review and have a good Christmas BSB!

    1. Best Sports Betting says:

Thanks Flash, have a good one yourself.

  8. Some harsh comments lol. They don’t have much it seems and I also don’t get why they would not let you see markets without registering. I’d join them for the festive bonus though, the playthrough terms are fair but not sure there is much appeal after that.

  9. An absolute joke of a sportsbook. Not one Rugby match on offer when there are over 20 1st class European matches this weekend in Top14, Aviva prem and Pro12.

Horrible User Interface, absolutely no markets on ANY sporting codes and overall not even worth wasting your time signing up. I can’t understand why these guys even waste their time offering a betting site if they not going to do it properly. Useless!

    1. Best Sports Betting says:

Thanks for the feedback Muzza, there is definitely room for improvement!

    2. I’ve been using them for a few weeks and they have a very basic site but the service and stretches I’ve gotten make up for some of it. I don’t bet on rugby but that must be frustrating as hell. What do you not like about the user interface? I found it to be fairly standard other than the lack of markets.

  10. That festive season bonus is pretty good. But I’m broke af.

  11. I find their name rather ironic given their markets. Atleast they got football covered. They’d need to offer me one hell of a bonus to join. Can’t get into desktop but you are right mobile is fine.

  12. Interesting review. I don’t have an account with them personally as they don’t have enough markets on offer for me. Strange they decided to offer such a small size. Those promos sound good though, might consider giving them a shot once I know what the festive season offers are. 6/10 seems a bit generous, I’d say 5/10.

    1. Best Sports Betting says:

Thanks JP, we scored slightly higher due to previous promos and the no limitations on winners.

      1. Do they have a sign on offer? I want to sign up but only if I get something from them 🙂
Please let me know via the email I used to post comment.
