It appears that Betmasters have closed their doors and are no longer offering any sports betting.
If you are looking to open a betting account have a look at one of our recommended bookmakers
Betmasters are a fixed odds betting site powered by Turfsport, their aim is to become a niche site that caters to it’s punters. They have been around for a while, but have only recently come onto the scene with an actual launched product. We’re going to have a look at Betmasters and see if they are a bookmaker worth using.
The Betmasters site is an interesting experience. The landing page is simple, elegant and well laid out. The first thing you’ll think to yourself is where do I find the markets? Well Betmasters have made an interesting choice here, you have to register an account before you can access the meat and potatoes of the page. Interesting because it’s quite a bold move which has plenty of pros and cons. We’ll speculate here and say it’s because there is not a whole lot on offer once you do get in. Interestingly enough you can access the mobile site unrestricted which may blow our speculation out the water but we’ll see if we get a response on this.
Betmasters currently offer Horse Racing, Soccer, Tennis, Rugby and Lucky Numbers. The market prices are your standard Turfsports fare which is more than competitive. We got in touch with them about several things, including the lack of markets and they said that they were happy to price up requests from punters as long as the request was a week in advance. The requests don’t have to be on any of the listed sports so if there is something you’d like priced up give them a shout, we haven’t tested this ourselves but it sounds like they are very accommodating.
Promotions wise it’s another interesting decision by Betmasters. They don’t offer any ongoing promotions but do often run promotions. At the time of writing they’d just ended their deposit offer of a 100% match up to R5000, a double stretch on international rugby multiples and a price boost on Manchester United when included in a treble or more. We actually really like those and they offered great value to punters. They inform their punters of promotions with a weekly newsletter which covers any promotions on offer and the usual newsletter previews etc. They did give us an inside scoop on the fact that there will be a festive season promotion coming out soon, so we’ll update this review once we know the details.
A another thing we’d like to mention about Betmasters are their punter orientated values. They are happy to take big bets on horses when other bookmakers won’t. They also said they never had and never will restrict a winner. We all know that it’s a favourite pastime of South Africa bookmakers to limit accounts when you are hammering them so it’s a bold move by Betmasters. Let’s hope it stays that way.
Overall Experience :
We like that they are trying to be a bookie that caters for bigger punters and have positioned themselves in such a way, we got the impression that the punter comes first and their needs will be met. We have no issues with the Betmasters site but there are several areas that are in desperate need of improvement. Firstly the lack of markets needs to be improved to a level where one doesn’t not have to contact them to put something up, hopefully this improves as they grow. Secondly we’d like to see ongoing promotions, even generic ones, as well as a fixed sign on offer. Other than that we might see interesting things from Betmasters in the future so we recommend you give them a chance and make up your own mind.
