Serbia v Brazil World Cup 2018 Betting Preview

Brazil haven’t had the best start to their World Cup as they struggled to find the net in their first 2 games. They managed a draw with Switzerland and left it very late against Costa Rica. They now face a Serbian side that is tough as nails and who still have a chance of qualifying for the round of 16. Brazil need a big win here as their goal difference is not fantastic, a 1-0 win could potentially see them finish behind the Swiss who are sure to beat Costa Rica. Brazil will start this match in 5th gear and look to burn that engine out by scoring as many goals as possible. Finishing second in the group might not be the worst thing though, as they’ll likely face Mexico in the next round, a side they’d rather face than Germany.

Serbia were unfortunate to lose against Switzerland, they missed a host of chances and it took a stunning strike from Xhaka to take the result away from them. Serbia can still qualify from the group but they need to beat Brazil in order to do so. They’ll have to stifle the Brazilian attack and hit hard on the counter and from set pieces. It won’t be easy but Serbia have the talent and the discipline to do so. The trouble is they have not been the most prolific scorers, having only scored 2 goals this World Cup, and it’ll take more than 2 goals to stop this Brazilian side.

Serbia v Brazil World Cup 2018 Betting Tips

This match has everything to play to for. The winner will advance to the round of 16 and the loser will more than likely be on the next flight out of Russia. We expect the Serbs to sit deep and absorb the Brazilian attack and try to hit them on the counter. If either side can grab an early goal we expect this match to open up, but we aren’t expecting too many early goals, rather a nervous opening 45min. Combined 6 these sides have scored or conceded 6 goals in the 2nd half while in contrast they’ve only seen 2 goals for or against in the first half. With that in mind we’re going to be backing the second half to be the higher scoring half at 11/10.
