We visited Playa Bets Cape Town branch to find out everything you need to know before you head down to have a bet. Continue reading for our full review and rating.
Location
Cape Town City Centre, Shop 42 Matador Centre, Entrance Waterkant, 226 Long St, Cape Town, 8000.

The branch is nestled just off Long street in central Cape Town, it’s very easy to find as there is loads of Playa Bets branding outside so you shouldn’t miss it. We have to say they have an ideal location for a betting shop as it’s so central and close to public transport and main roads.
Parking
Well it’s in Cape Town so don’t expect to find parking too easily, we got lucky and managed to find a spot a few meters away but be prepared to hunt for a spot on a busy day!
First Impressions
Stepping into the shop we were greeted by a friendly security guard who was happy to help us out. The shop has a very strong Playa Bets feel to it with lots of branding on the walls and more TV screens than you can shake a fist at. It’s almost an upmarket feel and they’ve definitely set themselves apart from other betting stores with their layout and colour scheme.

Cleanliness
Playa Bets Cape Town was absolutely spotless. The store is clean and well maintained, things might get a bit messy later in the day with slips (Betting Slips!) on the floor etc but there was nothing of the sort during our morning visit.
The Playa Bets Cape Town experience
Playa Bets Cape Town is unlike most betting stores, they have a very efficient layout and use their limited space to maximum effect. The main counter was well staffed even though the store was not too busy at the time. We didn’t have to wait to be helped and the staff at the counter were knowledgeable and helpful. We made things a bit hard on them by asking for a specific market and they were happy to help us find the codes for what we wanted to bet. Another nice touch was they display your bet on a built in screen in front of you so there’s no making a mistake with your intended bet.

For those that don’t want to use the tellers Playa Bets Cape Town have several machines or terminals where you can login with your Playa Bets account and bet from within the branch. Something that you don’t find at too many other places. At the time of our visit these machines were all packed so they’re obviously very popular.

Another thing we’d like to mention is that Playa Bets Cape Town does reward their punters with daily specials, all of which are listed in the images below. We think these are absolutely fantastic and it’s great to see this retention strategy in such a central location.

There are 2 slot machines for players, soon to be expanded to 5 which will be good for those looking to get some one arm bandit action in.

The Betting
Playa Bets Cape Town have the usual sports on offer as well as their Keno game, which runs every few minutes and as far as we know is unique to Playa Bets, everything you can find on the Playa Bets website you’ll be able to bet on in store.

Overall Experience
The Playa Bets Cape Town experienced is unmatched in our opinion, it’s modern, slick, well staffed and a pleasure to visit. There are only a few drawbacks we encountered, Firstly the size of branch, which due to it’s prime location is understandable as the rent must be insanely high, but they use the space well. The other thing we noticed was the lack of a bar which will appeal to some and turn others off, which is fine both ways but it is something worth mentioning. Even taking those issues into consideration we have to say we definitely recommend paying Playa Bets Cape Town a visit, it’s honestly one of the best betting shops we’ve ever visited.
