Here at BSB we love the NFL and are going to be tipping as often as we can and when ever when see value, hence this section dedicated to our NFL Betting Predictions 2017/2018. We’ll be doing week by week predictions and we also have a long term preview that you can look at. We won’t be covering all the games, just the ones we’ll be betting on, and as usual, we’ll be keeping tally of wins and losses!
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 6
After going all square in Week 5 we’ll hopefully be in the money for week 6!
Carolina Panthers v Philadelphia Eagles
Both sides go into this clash with a 4-1 record, but we think one team deserves the 4-1 status while the other is perhaps not as deserving. The Eagles have been playing some fantastic football and are looking like a solid well lead side. The Panthers on the other hand have been blowing 4th quarter leads and have been no where near as impressive as the Eagles. Instead of picking a winner we’re going to go with points as these two sides should have no problem keeping the score board ticking in what should be a close Eagles win. Back over 45.5 points.
Kansas City Chiefs v Pittsburgh Steelers
There are a few things you can rely on in life, death, taxes and the Chiefs having a great start to a season. The Chiefs are an impressive 5-0 and as always are quietly flying under the radar. They face a Steelers side coming off a loss to the Jaguars, yes the Jaguars. We’re not sure whats going on in Pittsburgh at the moment but it’s not good. Back the Chiefs -4.5 against the hapless Steelers.
Denver Broncos v New York Giants
The Giants are the surprise losers so far this season. They have a solid roster but have struggled in all facets of the game, and we’re expecting another long night for the G men when they take on the Broncos. Our worry about backing the Broncos is that the spread is a whopping 11.5, we’re not sure if the Broncos will cover such a large number so we’re going to go against our better judgement and take the Giants +11.5!
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 5
After giving week 4 a miss we hope to turn our fortunes around in week 5!
Cincinnati Bengals v Buffalo Bills
The Bengals have had a miserable start to their season, going 0-2 at home and 1-3 overall. The Bills are the complete opposite having picked up a few key wins and are sitting pretty on 3-1. The Bills have relied heavily on their run game and we think the Bengals have what it takes to shut them down. It’s tough to go against the Bills but we can’t see the Bengals losing this one, especially after their 31-7 away win against the Browns. Back the Red Rifle and the Bengals to cover the -3 at 9/10.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers v New England Patriots
The Patriots are having a terrible time at the moment. They’re the worst team on defense in the NFL at the moment and while Tom Brady is having a great season their defense is making things very tough. The Bucs aren’t in the same calibre as the Patriots but they’re getting a massive 5 points at home and we can’t turn than down. Back the Bucs +5.5.
LA Rams v Seattle Seahawks
The Rams are a much improved unit and the city of LA really has rallied around them, giving them a strong home advantage. Combine that with a top notch offense and you’re going to see the Seahawks struggle. It’ll be a close game but the Rams should edge it. Back the Rams at 9/10.
Houston Texans v Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are on a tear at the moment and are the only undefeated side in the NFL. They’re taking on a rookie quarterback, Watson, who has a number of weapons at his disposal. Usually one shouldn’t be backing a rookie against a team like the Chiefs but the Texans are heavily underrated and have a healthy team that should be more than competitive at home. Back the Texans at 19/20.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 3
Week 2 saw us picking up a win and the results normalising somewhat so we should be in for profit in Week 3! Onto the picks.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 3 : Baltimore Ravens v Jacksonville Jaguars (London)
With this match taking place in London it’s hardly a home game for the Jags, more of an away game for both sides. Ravens are looking very solid defensively this season and Jags are a terrible team, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. The -4 on offer for the Ravens is too good to turn down. Back the Ravens -4 at 5/6.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 3 : Carolina Panthers v New Orleans Saints
The Saints have started the season 0-2 and it looks like they are a shadow of their former glory. They’re now living in the Panthers and Falcons shadow in what was once a competitive NFC South. The Panthers are solid at home but they did struggle somewhat against the Bills. There shouldn’t be too many points in this game so the Under 46.5 looks good and the Panthers -5.5 is also a solid bet.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 3 : New England Patriots v Houston Texans
The Texans are in trouble with loads of injuries and have an offense that is struggling to put on points. They face a Pats side who are coming off the back of a massive win and will want to do their home fans some service by running up the score in this one. The spread is a whopping -13.5 but the Patriots should cover it with room to spare. We’re going with the New England Patriots -13.5
NFL Week 3 Teaser :
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 2
Week 1 was an absolute mare! Bookies killed it and we got slaughtered, let’s hope we bounce back in week 2! Onto the picks! Also a big thanks to Chalkline Sports for the awesome graphics, as the season progresses we’ll be able to give you more in depth stats!
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 2 : New York Giants v Detroit Lions
The Giants got off to the worst possible start by getting smashed 19-3 by the Cowboys. Their problem was missing Beckham Jnr who should be back for this match. If he’s playing the Giants should have a fighting chance against Matt Stafford and his gun slinging Lions. We’re going with the Gmen -3 should Beckham Jnr return for the match in New York.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 2 : New Orleans Saints v New England Patriots
Backing Brady and co after an embarrasing loss is a no brainer. The Pats will come out firing and put the Saints to sleep early. It’s one of the biggest trends in football, the Pats roll after coming off a big loss, and with no major injuries this should be no different, The line has moved but the -6.5 is still value. Back the Patriots -6.5
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 2 : Seattle Seahawks v San Francisco 49ers.
Don’t read too much into the loss against the Packers, it was almost expected and the Seahawks will win the return leg at home. This week they face the troubled 49ers and with the spread at -14 some might think a play on the 49ers +14 is a good idea. Well it’s not. The Seahawks have incredible support at home and a fantastic record against the 49ers, as well as the 49ers being pretty bad. Take the -14 on the Seahawks.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 2 : Atlanta Falcons v Green Bay Packers
The Pack impressed in week 1 with a win against the Seahawks but must now travel to Georgia to take on last year’s finalists, the Falcons. The Falcons really should have done better against a weak Bears side in their last outing and will find the opposition much tougher when the Packers come to town. These matches are usually shoot outs but because of the slow start for the Falcons we’re backing U55.5 points, in what will hopefully be a low scoring match!
Our teaser for NFL Week 2 :
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 1
NFL week 1 predictions are tough as there have been trades, injuries and preseason is little to go by. However, here is what we like for our NFL Week 1 Bets.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 1 : New England Patriots v Kansas City Chiefs
The Champions host the Chiefs on Thursday night and this should be a fairly straight forward win for the Patriots. Their passing offensive is way better than the Chiefs coverage so we should see Brady rack up the yards. The spread of 8.5 is a bit high for our liking as the Chiefs often run the Pats close. So the +8.5 on the Chiefs looks a good bet but we’ll be saving our bet here for our week 1 teaser.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 1 : Chicago Bears v Atlanta Falcons
The Superbowl losers, the Falcons, travel to Soldiers Field to take on a very messy Bears side. The Falcons were on fire last season and we’re hoping they dust themselves off after that loss to the Patriots and get right back to it! There should be points in this match as the Bears defense is not great but they can score. Our pick is Over 50.5 points as well as keeping the Falcons for our teaser.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 1 : Cleveland Browns v Pittsburgh Steelers
A divisional mismatch if there ever was one! The Steelers are pipped to take the division while the Browns are one of the worst teams in the NFL. We don’t think much has changed over the off season and the Browns are likely just as bad as always. The Steelers can be flaky but they’ll step it up against their rivals and should cover the big spread of -9. We’ll also be keeping the Steelers for our teaser, so no best bet on this match. Our bet is to keep the Steelers for your teasers.
NFL Betting Predictions – Week 1 : Cincinnati Bengals v Baltimore Ravens
This should be a great match up as both sides are in the same league as each other and it’s a divisional game. It’s between these two to see who will join the Steelers (In our opinion) in the playoffs. The Bengals with the home field advantage and with the Red Rifle out to prove a point this season it should be one hellva good match. Also the Bengals have won their last 5 matches at home to the Ravens and we see this one being 6 in a row. Our Bet is Bengals -3.
Our NFL Betting Predictions Week one teaser (which you can take at Sportingbet or alternative handicaps at WSB) is the following : Patriots -1.5, Falcons -0.5 , Steelers -2.5 at 16/10.
What is a teaser bet?
You can reduce the risk in an accumulator by placing a teaser instead. A teaser is a combination of two to ten bets. You adjust the point spreads and/or totals in your favour in exchange for a lower payout. When your teaser includes a point spread, you can decrease the spread for the favourite or, conversely, increase the spread for the underdog. When it includes a total, you can increase the “under” or decrease the “over”. As in a accumulator, winning the bet is dependent on all of the wagers winning.
NFL is back! Let’s make some MOOLA, Packers, texans, Cards, and Saints FTW!
