Croatia v England World Cup 2018 Betting Preview
Croatia have been scrapping through the World Cup knockouts, having gone to penalties in both their knock out matches against Denmark and Russia. The Croatian players must be absolutely knackered after playing 240 minutes of tournament football in the space of a week. Their tired legs were on show late in their match against Russia and even their penalty shoot out shots showed their fatigue. They’re a quality side who started the tournament playing some great football, but they’ve only declined since the group stages. It’s going to be hard for them to gather their strength and see off a fairly fresh English side that are full of confidence.
England have been having a dream run to the World Cup final, their loss to Belgium guaranteed them the kinder side of the draw. To their credit it is something that they have taken full advantage of. England are yet to be properly tested this World Cup, even their match against Colombia was not a true test as the match was more of a scrap than anything else. It matters little how you get to the final so we’re not going to hold it against them. They looked fairly sharp against Sweden, a match that they should have won 3-4 nil. Sterling continues to be a problem as there were several chances he should have buried, offside flag or not. If he somehow finds form in the match against Croatia then England have legitimate chance of beating France / Belgium in the final.
Croatia v England World Cup 2018 Betting Tips
As we mentioned the Croatians look like the walking wounded. Their players are exhausted after all the extra time and penalties that they’ve been subjected to. I don’t see them keeping pace with an English side that will hold possession and make the Croatians come at them. Croatia will be left chasing shadows and be exhausted in the second half. If it were not for the 240 minutes Croatia has played then I think this match would be much tighter than it currently is. Croatia have the talent and the midfield to hurt England but no amount of Red Bull will help those tired legs. England will run them ragged and pick up a comfortable win. England to win in 90min at 13/10 is the call.
We also fancy a bit of highest scoring half : Second Half at 23/20.
