Brazil v Mexico World Cup Betting Preview

Brazil will be buoyed by their recent performances after a rather slow start to their campaign. The tournament favourites eased past Costa Rica and more impressively Serbia in their last 2 group matches, banishing the disappointment of their opening draw with Switzerland. In our outright preview we said it was a tough group for Brazil to navigate but they did so as a well organised side. Something we’ve not seen from them in quite some time. They’ll be confident facing a Mexican side that is mediocre at best and were rather fortunate to make it through the group stages despite beating Germany.

Mexico had a very tough group on paper but in reality it turned out that Germany simply did not pitch up for the World Cup. Opening the door for Mexico to qualify. While their win over the Germans was a sight to behold it was a German side in an absolute mess so we can’t read too much into that result. Their other results were a narrow win over South Korea and a big loss to Sweden. They’ll be up against it when they face Brazil as their opponents are on a high and have a squad packed full of talent.

Brazil v Mexico World Cup Betting Tips

Brazil will be licking their lips at the sight of Mexico. Brazil’s pace and structure will be able to keep the Mexican counter attack in check while their potent attack should have no trouble dealing with a patchy Mexican back line. This is an absolute mismatch but that’s what World Cups are all about. Yes Mexico can beat Brazil but in order for that to happen Mexico will need to play out of their socks and hope Brazil have a poor match, something which is unlikely to happen given the current morale of the Brazilian squad. The Brazilians are a short 1/2 to win this match and that’s where our money is going, we simply don’t see them losing to this Mexican side. Back Brazil to win in the 90 at 1/2 and for the braver punters have a nibble on Brazil -1 at 14/10.
