You must be over the age of 18 to participate in the Golf 8 GTI competition. As mentioned, you must place a minimum R20 bet on horse racing on your online account, or by placing a qualifying bet at a Hollywoodbets branch.
Prize draw dates
- 11 June: Day before the Gold Challenge Race Meeting (50 winners winning R1 000)
- 2 July: Day before the Durban July (100 winners winning R1 000)
- 30 July: Day before the Gold Cup (50 winners winning R1 000)
- The draw for the Golf 8 GTI will take place on 1 August 2021. The prizes on this day will include 200 x R1 000 betting vouchers.
Competition Terms and Conditions
1. The competition runs between 1 May 2021 00:00 – 31 July 2021 23:59.
2. Cut off time for entries is 23:59 on 31 July 2021.
3. Contestants must be over the age of 18 to participate in the competition.
4. Betting ticket numbers can only be used within the promotion period i.e. bets taken between 1 May 00:00 – 31 July 2021 23:59.
5. A customer must place a horse racing bet to the minimum value of R20, on his/her cell phone betting account or play in a Hollywoodbets branch for R20 or more. Branch bets: Dial *120*46559*2*ticketnumber#. Account bets: opt in on the promotions page, just once, for all your bets to be entered.
6. Each ticket number can only be entered once.
7. Every horse racing bet for R20 or more, will be counted as an additional entry. Entries are not limited.
8. Single bets on horse racing and multiple bets, which include at least one leg on horse racing, will be accepted. This includes all “Open bets”, “Open Exotics” and “Fixed Odds” bets.
9. The winners will be selected randomly via a draw from all valid entries.
10. Betting voucher winners will be drawn on the below dates:
a. 11 June: Day before the Gold Challenge Race Meeting (50 winners winning R1 000)
b. 2 July: Day before the Durban July (100 winners winning R1 000)
c. 30 July: Day before the Gold Cup (50 winners winning R1 000)
11. The draw for the vehicle will be done on 1 August 2021.
12. The prizes include 200 x R1 000 betting vouchers. Winners without a Hollywoodbets betting accounts will be called on his/her cell phone. If the contestant does not answer within 30 minutes, then another valid entry will be drawn and selected as the winner. Winners with existing betting accounts will be sent an SMS (there is no time limit to react to the SMS).
13. The betting voucher will be paid into the winners’ Hollywoodbets accounts. If the winner does not have a Hollywoodbets account, they will be required to open one.
14. For the duration of the competition, entrants are limited to winning one betting voucher only. The winners of the betting vouchers will remain eligible to win the car.
15. Winners will be announced on the day of the draw.
16. All draws will take place at Hollywoodbets Head Office supervised by an internal auditor.
17. All winners will be announced at approximately 16:00 on the day of the draw.
18. Betting voucher prizes will be transferred into the winners Hollywoodbets account within 5 days from the date of the draw.
19. Prizes are non-transferable.
20. The car prize will be a 2021 Golf 8 GTI.
21. Hollywoodbets will not insure the car.
22. Hollywoodbets is not responsible for any warranties, maintenance or services or any other potential liability relating to the car.
23. The vehicle will be branded for 6 months in Hollywoodbets branding.
24. The winner must allow Hollywoodbets a reasonable time period to arrange for the car to be ordered, registered and licensed in his/her name and must provide Hollywoodbets with all information and original documentation required for this purpose, including an Identity Document together with a valid driver’s licence in respect of the winner or his or her nominated driver.
25. Hollywoodbets will only cover the cost of flat-bedding the vehicle to a major centre within South Africa (Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth) where the winner will need to collect the prize, unless otherwise agreed upon.
26. By entering the competition, you agree:
– that Hollywoodbets may collect and process your personal information for the purposes of the competition;
– to receiving communication from Hollywoodbets’ sponsors and partners;
– to take part in reasonable post-event publicity and to the use of your names and photographs in such publicity, subject to the winner’s right to decline participation in any such promotional activities.
27. Hollywoodbets and its authorised agents reserve the right to vary, suspend, postpone or terminate the competition and any prizes which have not already been won, or any aspect thereof, for any reasons whatsoever and without notice. In such event, you hereby waive any rights or expectations, which you may have against Hollywoodbets or its authorised agents and acknowledge that you will not have any recourse or claim of any nature against Hollywoodbets or its authorised agents.
28. Every entrant participating in the competition shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted these terms and conditions by virtue of their participation.
29. This competition is closed to any persons who are directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of Hollywoodbets or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by Hollywoodbets or marketing service providers, or spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members of all of the above.
30. By entering and participating and/or accepting any prize, the entrants, participants, users and/or winners hereby indemnify, release and hold harmless Hollywoodbets (including its subsidiaries, associate companies and affiliates), its directors, employees, agents, suppliers and contractors from and against any actions, claims and/or liability for injury, loss, damage, expense, claim and/or damages of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the competition, and/or the use, acceptance or possession of a prize, and/or participation (or non-participation) in a prize-related activity.
31. Self-excluded persons may not enter the competition.
32. In the event of a dispute, individuals may contact their respective gambling authorities.
