The introduction of online Tote bets at Hollywoodbets makes Tote betting accessible to any punter with a Hollywoodbets account, and in this guide we’re briefly going to run through how to place tote bets with Hollywoodbets.
How to place a Tote bet on Hollywoodbets
The new tote bets are accessible in the Hollywoodbets horse racing lobby, and you can view the tote odds and bets at the click of a button;
- Visit the Hollywoodbets site and login to your account
- Navigate to Horse Racing and the race you’d like to bet on
- Click on the HW Bets / Tote button to switch between the bookmaker odds and the tote odds
- Make your selection, enter your stake and confirm your bet
- Once completed you will receive a “Your tote bet was successful” message
What is Tote betting?
Tote betting is different from fixed odds betting as the tote offers you a pool bet where money is received from all the tote bets on a certain race, and distributes a share to each of the winners. Similar to what you’d find when betting on the South African National Lottery. The prize pool is divided by the number of winners, which can lead to some big payouts, but also gives the risk of a reduced payout if there are lots of winners.
